CACP Montreal
April 25-26, 2008
Montreal, QC
It is with great excitement that the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police welcomes delegates, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors to Montreal. Our 103rd Annual Conference is taking place from August 24th to 27th, in this vibrant and beautiful city that reflects the many complexities and realities of modern Canada. The Executive and Board of Directors join me in greeting you, your companions and families, as we assemble for the most important annual event for CACP.
Our conference has been organized around the theme “Better Diversity Management Through Partnership”. In recent years the CACP has held several special learning events for police leaders on the theme of diversity, with its challenges and its great positive potential. Police agencies in Canada serve increasingly diverse communities, and we benefit from more diversity within our own organizations. Canada’s police chiefs and senior executives are committed to workplaces that value individuals and foster their contributions. Managing workplace diversity is a key element of leadership in policing today.
Montreal is the venue, but the theme is one that is meaningful to all of us, no matter where we live. The planning committee has built a conference agenda that provides a solid professional development program. They have built in generous opportunities for discussion among participants, and lively social events for conference delegates, their companions and families. The annual trade show is a highlight of every conference, and this year’s will be excellent. Vendors make themselves available to explain and demonstrate their services, new technologies and innovative products. There is something here for everyone who attends.
Enjoy the stimulation of the Annual Conference and the sessions designed for police leaders of today and tomorrow. Soak in the ambiance of Montreal, with its renowned cuisine, its elegant mix of historical heritage and modernity, its natural beauty and the people who make it a lively cosmopolitan centre. I promise you an experience to remember.
